This rubric is used to score students' book projects based on their independent reading. Book projects were chosen by each student based upon their strengths using Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligence test

The project contains a few creative details and/or descriptions, but they distract from the project. The student has tried to use his/her imagination.
Poor

There is little evidence of creativity in the project. The student does not seem to have used much imagination.
Neatness

Excellent

The project is readable, clean, neat, and attractive. It is free of erasures and crossed-out words. It looks like the student took great pride in it.
Good

The project is readable, neat, and attractive. It may have one or two erasures, but they are not distracting. It looks like the student took some pride in it.
Fair

The project is readable and some of the project is attractive. It looks like parts of it might have been done in a hurry.
Poor

The project is not neat or attractive. It looks like the student did not take pride in their project.
