IHN Research Paper Assignment Rubric Writing Assignments Rubric Students will research Metabolic Syndrome X from a Western medicine/diet perspective and a Chinese medicine/diet perspective. Students will write a research paper comparing TCM and Western diet and treatments for this disorder. Students will use APA format to write their paper. All resources must be properly referenced and credited. The paper will be 2-3 pages long, double-spaced, 12-point font. Late research papers will NOT be accepted. Organization & Structure 20 pts	Excellent - Structure of the paragraph is clear and easy to follow.	Good - Structure of the paragraph is not easy to follow. - Paragraph transitions need improvement.	Needs Improvement - Organization and structure detract from the message of the writer. - Paragraph is disjointed and lack transition of thoughts.
Format 20 pts	Excellent - Paper follows APA designated guidelines. - Paper is the appropriate length as described for the assignment.	Good - Paper follows most guidelines. - Paper is over/ under word length.	Needs Improvement - Paper lacks many elements of correct formatting. - Paragraph is inadequate/excessive in length.
