1 pts The student needs extensive help in the subject matter.
Fair
2 pts The student has a basic understanding of concepts and subject matter but still needs assistance.
Average
3 pts The student meets standard minimums in regards to performance standards in subject matter.
Good
4 pts The student has a firm grasp of multiplication concepts.
Relationship
The student understands the relationship between multiplication and addition.
Poor

The student shows little understanding of the relationship between multiplication and addition. The student does not use addition to facilitate multiplication nor to adequately account for given money.
Fair

The student shows remedial understanding of addition and multiplication relationships.
Average

The student shows adequate understanding of how multiplication and addition are related. The student shows how repeated addition can be simplified with multiplication.
Good

The student shows marked understanding of multiplication and addition relationships. The student easily converts repeated addition to multplication and vice versa.
Multiplication Facts
The student shows fluency in multiplication facts to 10x10.
Poor

The student knows very few multiplication facts with any fluency. The student struggles with solving multplication problems and has several incorrect amounts on the project.
Fair

The student understands the easier multiplication facts but struggles with the higher numbers. The student shows some correct computations on food itenerary but struggles.
Average

The student is able to adequately compute portions and amounts for the food itenerary with a few mistakes.
Good

The student shows little to no mistakes in the food itenerary computations.
Multiplicative properties
The students show understanding of commutative, associative and identity properties of multiplication.
Poor

The student has no understanding of properties and does not include them in the menu project.
Fair

The student uses one or two of multiplication properties but does not seem to grasp concepts.
Average

The student uses the multplication properties correctly but does not show understanding.
Good

The student is very comfortable with the usage and application of multiplication properties.
Overall Design
Poor

The student is missing several components of the project and required help on the few included.
Fair

The student has all components of the project but they are not all correct.
Average

The student has all components of the project with the majority of computations and objectives completed correctly.
Good

The student has all components of the project and may include more. The students' computations are correct with understanding of the concepts.
