Phonics Build-A-Sent w/CVC spellings Phonics Build-A-Sent w/CVC spellings Students will be given one card containing a CVC word. They must find others in the class that has a word that can be put together to create a simple sentence. (EX: Sam has ham.) Once they find each other, each group will go to the front of the room to build their sentence for the class to read orally. The group must organize themselves correctly so that the sentence makes sense to be read. Build-a-Sentence Create sentences using the CVC spellings of simple words.

Sentence Structure 1 pts Does the sentence make sense?	Good Students organized themselves, without teacher assistance, to create a sensible and understood sentence.	Fair The students needed teacher guidance to create a sensible and understood sentence.	Poor Students did not build a sentence that made sense. Teacher guidance did not help the students to understand how to fix their sentence.
Group Cooperation 1 pts Did the students work together for a positive result?	Good All students in the group had input in the final presentation of their sentence.	Fair One student took control and told the other students where to stand to present their sentence. Other students argued with the one who took control.	Poor No student took control and no one seemed to know what to do to build a sensible sentence. Students argued among themselves instead of working together.
