Ideas	Strong Clearly identifies and explains the meaning behind the director's choice of cinematic technique. Strong thesis statement ties all ideas together.	Developing Identifies cinematic techniques, but does not reach deeper analysis or reasoning. Thesis statement present, but not well supported or explained.	Beginning Some cinematic technique identifies or explained, but writing is unclear, unsupported, or lacks cohesion.
Voice	Strong The writer's voice sounds confident, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic.	Developing The writer's voice sounds confident most of the time and fits the audience.	Beginning The writer sounds unsure. The voice needs to fit the audience.
