Very well developed introduction. It engages the reader and creates interest. It contains and/or introduces the process and state the author's point about the process. It also cover the whole process.
Good
The introduction statement creates interest and is fairly well developed. But while it contain and/or introduce the process, it is not very engaging; although, it does cover the whole process.
Fair
The introduction statement introduces the process, but it either does not give accurate and complete information, or it lacks detail and creativity. May not cover the whole process.
Poor
The introduction statement does not introduce the process. No controlling point about the process is evident.

The concluding statement relates a conclusion to the process, but it does little to unify the essay around the steps of the process.
