Exceeds
Student follows directions to the letter. Student gathers all materials independently and is completely ready to go. Student uses all the time provided to complete the task on time.
Meets
Student follows direction. Student gathers all materials with minimal prompting. Student uses most (small transitions) of the time provided to complete the task on time.
Approaching
Student follows most directions. Student gathers materials sporadically, as needed. Student requires prompting which causes the task to take longer. Student procrastinates causing the task to be completed late.
Does not meet
Student does not appear concerned with directions. Student did not gather the needed materials and was unable to perform work and did not meet timeline due to wasting time.
Communication
Exceeds
Student knows and is able to identify and communicate the necessary tools and tasks for completion of the project. Student self advocates and asks appropriate questions to improve understanding.
Meets
Student is able to identify and communicate the necessary tools and tasks for completion of the project with some assistance.
Approaching
Student is unable to identify and communicate the use tools to complete the task without continuous prompting.
Does not meet
Student use of tools poses a danger to self and others. Student cannot communicate understanding of the task.
Critical Thinking
Exceeds
Student is able to complete the task without assistance. Student develops and uses multiple techniques to problem solve and can articulate a reason for choosing that technique.
Meets
Student is able to complete the task with little assistance. Student uses multiple techniques to problem solve.
Approaching
Student is able to complete the task with moderate assistance. Student problem solves but does not use multiple techniques.
Does not meet
Student is unable to complete task with assistance. Student is not successful in problem-solving techniques.
Collaboration
Exceeds
Student consistently listens to others. All statements, responses and body language, are respectful and appropriate. Student listens to, shares with, and supports the efforts of others. Student motivates all members to share their contributions equally.
Meets
Student listens to, shares and supports others. Statement and responses are respectful and appropriate body language is exhibited consistently.
Approaching
Most student statements, responses and body language are respectful; occasionally has a negative tone. Student does not always listen to, share with, and support the efforts of others.
Does not meet
Student statements, responses and/or body language were consistently not respectful. Student rarely listens to, shares with, and supports the efforts of others.
