STEM Study Rubric
	Outstanding 20 pts	Excellent 15 pts	Good 10 pts	Fair 5 pts	Poor 0 pts
Originating Idea	Outstanding Study is generated by student questions evidenced by a KWL chart and includes anecdotal notes. A focus question is chosen to drive the study.	Excellent Student guestions are included and a focus question drives the study; however, a KWL chart is not included.	Good Student questions are included, but do not appear to drive the study.	Fair Student questions are included, but do not appear to drive the study.	Poor The study is generated by the teacher.
Subject Knowledge	Outstanding Student does not have grasp of information; student cannot answer questions about subject.	Excellent Student is uncomfortable with information and is able to answer only rudimentary questions.	Good Student is at ease with expected answers to all questions, but fails to elaborate.	Fair Student demonstrates full knowledge (more than required) by answering all class questions with explanations and elaboration.	Poor
Vocabulary	Outstanding Student uses superfluous graphics or no graphics	Excellent Student occasionally uses graphics that rarely support text and presentation.	Good Student's graphics relate to text and presentation.	Fair Student's graphics explain and reinforce screen text and presentation.	Poor
Application	Outstanding Student's presentation has four or more spelling errors and/or grammatical errors.	Excellent Presentation has three misspellings and/or grammatical errors.
