Music Theatre Research Paper Music Theatre Research Paper Write a 8-10 minute presentation about a Musical Theatre Play. Include information about social context of the play, influences, the lyricst, the playwright, the actors/ actresses, any revivals, and examples of music from the play being performed today. A performance from the musical must be performed. It can be a song, dance, or an influential part that showcases the spirit of the musical. 	Not Achieving Level 1 5 pts	Poor 10 pts	Fair 15 pts	Good 20 pts
Introductory Paragraph	Not Achieving Level 1 No sentences that barely mention the composer.	Poor 1 to 2 sentences that barely mention the composer.	Fair 3 to 4 sentences about the composer and his life with no thesis.	Good 5 to 6 sentences about the composer. The final sentence is a thesis sentence addressing the composer's importance today.
Body Paragraphs	Not Achieving Level 1 Paragraphs do not make any sense and with no meaningful information.	Poor Paragraphs are short (1-2 sentences) with little information.	Fair Paragraphs are a reasonable length (4-6 sentences) with little information.	Good Paragraphs are a reasonable length and are informative.
Citations	Not Achieving Level 1 Sources are not cited.	Poor Sources are cited by title or author only. Some elements of APA style are present.	Fair Sources are cited by author, work, and page number.	Good Sources are cited by author, work, and page number using APA style consistently.
Length	Not Achieving Level 1 Paper is 2 pages or shorter.	Poor Paper is 3 pages or shorter.	Fair Paper longer than 4 page, but shorter than 5.	Good Paper is 5 to 7 pages in lenth.
Grammar	Not Achieving Level 1 Consistent errors ins grammar are found several times throughout the research paper. No evidence of editing is present.	Poor Words are misspelled and used improperly. Punctuation is ignored.	Fair Some attention is paid to spelling and punctuation.	Good Words are spelled and used correctly. Sentences are punctuated correctly.
