Mental Health Cartoon Cartoon Coping Project Students will create three cartoon strips. They will choose 3 of the 4 concepts: Stigma, Stereotypes, Prejudice, Descrimination. Each cartoon strip must have a minimum of 5 frames and a maximum of 10 frames. Students may draw or cut out magazine images. I must see that effort was used in creating this not just stick figures. Each cartoon must have a 3-5 sentence paragraph explaining how we can change attitudes about that particular concept. Proper Length	Poor Student went under the expected 5 frames or over the limit of 10 frames on all 3 cartoon strips.	Fair Student went under the expected 5 frames or over the limit of 10 frames on 2/3 cartoon strips.	Good Student went under the expected 5 frames or over the limit of 10 frames on 1/3 cartoon strips.	Excellent All 3 cartoon strips were 5-10 frames long.
Quality of the Images	Poor Low quality cartoons were used i.e. stick figures. Glued images missing or unable to recognize what the images were about.	Fair Some craftsmanship was shown however some key parts to the cartoons were not done well.	Good All cartoons are done with effort, planning, and thought. There are still several flaws present. Examples include one missing image.	Excellent All cartoons are done with effort, planning, and thought. There are no flaws present.
Paragraph for Each Cartoon	Poor There is not a paragraph explaining each of the cartoons.	Fair There is only 1/3 paragraphs required.	Good There is only 2/3 paragraphs required.	Excellent The cartoon strip has all 3 paragraphs that is well written and explains ways to change attitudes about the concepts in their cartoons.
Quality of the Concept	Poor The students displayed little to no understanding of the concepts addressed in the cartoon.	Fair The students displayed minimal understanding of the concepts addressed in the cartoon.	Good The students displayed a good understanding of the concepts addressed in the cartoon.	Excellent The students displayed a great understanding of the concepts addressed in the cartoon.
