	Poor 1 pts	Fair 2 pts	Good 3 pts
Pace	Poor Either reading word by word, (words not flowing), or can hardly understand because reading too quickly	Fair Reads faster or slower than the average speaking pace.	Good Reads at an average pace (like speaking)
Smoothness	Poor Stumbles over most or all words, or cannot understand reading because reading too quickly.	Fair Stumbles over 3-5 words while reading, words are flowing.	Good Reads smoothly, like when speaking, with 0-2 times of stumbling over words.
Expression	Poor Student has little expression when reading, does not take into account punctuation.	Fair Student reads with some expression but sometimes reads word to word, lacking expression.	Good Student reads with expression, reading is speechlike.
