Memory of the routine is clear and execution of the movement is concise and noticeably , well rehearsed.

Demonstrates some knowledge of choreography, but unsure of some movements. Sometimes hesitates/ watches others and makes several errors
Technical skills

Pointing/flexing toes, back straight/curved, arm placement, are all clear and concise. Demonstrates purpose in skills and utilizes skills discussed within class.

Inadequate

Dance performed with great attention to quality of movement, body position, placement on stage and other details of dance. Also demonstrates an excellent understanding of dance style.
Adequate

Dance performed with attention to details of technique, has attained proficiency in dance style.

Only some understanding of technical elements (ie. footwork, quality of movements, body positions) demonstrated in performance.
Performance Skills

Projection of eye contact and appropriate expressions based on the environmental factors of the piece (ex. intent is broken heart, not using smiling excited facial expressions). The dancer is confident with movements and projects a clear purpose/intent in execution.

The performers draw the audience in and make them want to watch them able to engage the audience completely through their performance. A true joy to watch!

The dancer communicates with audience through eye contact and facial and body expression. Is able to engage the.

The dancers communicates with audience through eye contact and facial and body expression. Occasionally loses focus.
Outstanding

The dancers are generally focused, but only some attempt made to grab attention of the audience with eye contact and good facial expression.

Clear intention throughout piece. Provides appropriate projection to audience about the purpose of the movements throughout entire piece.

Minimal participation, theme or renegade relevance.

Little or no participation, theme or renegade relevance.

Works productively, brings music, appropriate clothes/shoes, and any other necessary tools to class on work days. Works entire class period all work days. Does not disturb other groups. Collaborates with all group members to create ideas.
