	Needs Improvement 15 pts	Satisfactory 20 pts	Good 25 pts
Construction and craftmanship	Needs Improvement Overall construction has flaws such as cracks, warping, dents, visible seams, clay is too thick or too thin, rough edges.	Satisfactory Construction is sound and functional without obvious flaws, edges are smooth, and parts are neatly trimmed.	Good Outstanding construction indicated by artistic use of clay's plasticity to enhance form and construction technique. Decoration and glazing enhances form. No apparent flaws.
Design of the ceramic form	Needs Improvement Project is deficient in overall design such as too big, too small, no detail, unbalanced, disproportionate.	Satisfactory Basic design balances and good flow to all sides. All parts create unity.	Good Outstanding Form and flow from all sides....CREATIVE-Something that sets it apart from all the rest.
Glaze	Needs Improvement project has glazing defiencies such as too thick or too thin application, drips, uneven coverage, Bisque showing through in parts. Too much color experimentation with out thought to color and design.	Satisfactory Thought given to the glazing process. Enhanced textures, even coat -Use of color theory...such as analogous, neutrals complementary colors evident...Good coverage	Good Outstanding Glaze. Creative...thought given to enhancing the form and texture ...set apart from the rest. Outstanding color work.
Class Participation	Needs Improvement Inattentive to instruction, inefficient use of class time, frequent tardiness, project not completed on time, work area not cleaned.	Satisfactory Proper use of materials, equipment, cleans up work space, attentive, arrives to class on time.	Good In addition...assist those that may need help, encouraging others. Contribute and invested in the whole process.
