	Poor 5 pts	Fair 7.5 pts	Good 10 pts
Prepared	Poor Almost completely unprepared: comes to class late, without all of the proper materials.	Fair Somewhat prepared: comes to class late OR brings only some of the proper materials.	Good Completely prepared: comes to class promptly AND with all of the proper materials.
Engaged	Poor Almost never shows interest in the topic or activity. Falls asleep, daydreams, or is otherwise distracted. Does not ask questions when he needs help.	Fair Sometimes shows interest in the topic or activity. May occasionally seem bored or distracted. Will sometimes ask questions when he needs help	Good Always shows shows interest in the topic or activity. Always asks questions for clarification or when he needs help.
Listening	Poor Almost never listens attentively when others are speaking. Frequently interrupts and needs the question to be repeated.	Fair Sometimes listens attentively when others are speaking. Occasionally interrupts or needs the question to be repeated.	Good Always listens attentively when others are speaking.
Speaking	Poor Almost never asks questions or contributes to the discussion, even with prompting. Questions and comments are often unrelated to the activity or discussion.	Fair Sometimes asks questions or contributes to the discussion. Usually has to be prompted. Questions may be unrelated to activity or discussion.	Good Always asks questions or contributes to the discussion without prompting. Questions are related to the activity or discussion.
Well-behaved	Poor Almost never well-behaved. Breaks the rules and must be reprimanded. Causes frequent distractions with noise, excessive movement.	Fair Sometimes well behaved. Follows the rules, but occasionally distracts others with excess noise and movement.	Good Always well behaved. Always follows the rules and is careful to keep excess noise and movements to a minimum so as not to distract others.
