Information	Good Student Summary adequately address the "Big 5" (who, what, when, where and how it impacts).	Fair Student Summary addresses three of the "Big 5."	Poor Student Summary addresses 1 or none of the "Big 5." Leaving the reader/listener guessing.
Delivery and Stance	Good Presenter was very impressive with a clear voice, eye contact, and full development of the news report.	Fair Presenter had a clear voice, made minimal eye contact with audience, and the length was satisfactory.	Poor Presentation was too short with little to no eye contact made with the audience.
Personal Connection	Good Student explained the news story's connection to themselves or their world without prompting.	Fair Student made appropriate connection to themselves or their world ONLY as a response to prompting by teacher.	Poor Student made a brief connection to themselves or their world only after being prompted several times.
Knowledge of Topic	Good Student was very knowledgeable. Had 2-3 references in presentation.	Fair Student was somewhat knowledgeable. Used 1 refernce in presentation.	Poor Student did not know what they were discussing, simply borrowed a topic from morning news. No refernces.
Providing a Solution	Good Student provided 1-2 solutions or alternatives to the problem presented.	Fair Student provided only 1 solution but it was marginally valid.	Poor No actual solution provided. Student guessed what a remedy could be.
