Drawing skill	EXCELLENT Portrait is drawn with great skill. Student has taken concept being taught and applied in a unique way. Drawing looks realistic. Potrait is drawn with great skill.	VERY GOOD Portrait is drawn with great skill. Student has applied basic concepts being taught. Drawing looks realistic.	SATISFACTORY Portrait is drawn with fair skill. Student has applied basic concepts being taught. Drawing needs some improvement to look realistic.	WHAT HAPPENED? Recognizable subject. Has attempted to apply basic concepts, however drawing does not look realistic.	WORK NOT COMPLETED Has not made an attempt to apply basic concepts or to draw a realistic portrait.
Facial features Eyes, brows, nose, mouth, and ears	EXCELLENT All features are in correct proportion and are placed properly on the head. Facial features are not in propotion to the size of the head. The features are placed incorrectly on the head.	VERY GOOD Most features are in the correct proportion and are placed properly on the head. Detail/Texture	EXCELLENT Eyebrows and hair drawn very well. Simulated texture is well defined (repeated lines fill in area to create texture).	VERY GOOD Eyebrows and hair drawn very well. Neatness/ Craftmanship	EXCELLENT Have no tears, smudges or stray marks.Drew contour line lightly, not noticeable in drawing or erased conour lines very well.	VERY GOOD Drew the contour lines dark but erase them so they were not noticeable.	SATISFACTORY Drew the contour lines too dark to erase. The dark edges take away from the drawing. Smudges and stray marks successfully removed.	WHAT HAPPENED? Drew the contour lines too dark to erase. The dark edges take away from drawing. Attempts to remove smudges and stay marks not successful.	WORK NOT COMPLETED Everything it too dark and/or messy.
