Poor D-F
Both introduction and conclusion are missing (paper begins with topic as if copied from reference used). Writer not in touch with reader.
Development
Superior A
The topic is well researched and comprehensive and is developed in an orderly fashion. Writer shows aptitude in science.
Above Average B
The topic is researched but parts seem to be lacking or inadequately explained.
Average C
The topic shows little development and there are many parts inadequately developed.
Poor D-F
The topic shows little development and research, is filled with opinion only, and/or is off topic entirely.
Organization
Superior A
Well organized, follows a logical development of ideas. Uses appropriate transitions while keeping within topic. Uses headings for Introduction, Biology of Topic, Ethics of Topic, and Literature Cited.
Above Average B
Somewhat organized. Some logical development and transitions.
Average C
Little organization. Scattered thoughts; lacks logical development and appropriate transitions.
Poor D-F
No organization seen. Often illogical. Totally lacks development and use of transitions.
