The student has a very basic understanding of most of the benchmarks but used key terms and phrases from other sources.
Historical Examples

Fully Meets Expectations

Student's choice of historical examples demonstrate a thorough understanding of the benchmark and the connection between their selected events and benchmarks are crystal clear.
Adequately Meets Expectations

The student chose some good historical examples but they were either obvious or the connections were not drawn out consistently.
Minimally Meets Expectations

The student selected obvious examples from history and only drew surface level connections to the benchmarks.
Personal Examples

Fully Meets Expectations

The student told relevant stories that showed a complex understanding of the benchmarks through abstract connections.
Adequately Meets Expectations

The student told interesting stories that show a moderate understanding of the benchmarks but were inconsistent in their clear connections.
Minimally Meets Expectations

The student told simplistic, bare bones stories that have obvious connections to the benchmarks but do not demonstrate a nuanced understanding of the benchmarks.
