Idea	Poor Student picks a vague idea that is not easily represented by a creation. The idea has not been well thought out.	Fair Student has tried to pick an appropriate idea to base his/her creation on but thought and originality could be better.	Good Student picks an appropriate idea to base his/her creation about. The student has put thought into this idea.
creation	Poor Student creates an artistic representation that has little or no application to his/her idea. Creation is thrown together and lacks thought, planning and originality.	Fair Student creates an artistic representation that lacks applicablity to his/her idea, but does have a decent relationship to the idea. Creation lacks somewhat in planning and creativity.	Good Student creates an artistic representation that is applicable to his/her idea. The creation is well planned and well executed. creation is Neatly presented and shows creativity.
explanation	Poor Student is lacking in the ability to explain why s/he used the creation to represent the idea. Shows little or no comprehension of the link between ideas and imagery and symbolism.	Fair Student gives an explanation as to why the creation and idea go together. Explanation is lacking some detail and depth, but thought was demonstrated in the project. Shows decent comprehension of the link between simple ideas and imagery.	Good Student can give a coherent explanation as to why the creation and idea go together. (Can give sufficient details to support this) Shows great comprehension of the link between ideas and imagery.
