Bridge Project Students were to design a bridge using only 100 Popsicle sticks and glue. Their bridge had to be at least three Popsicle sticks long. If they were using beam supports, they had to be no more than one Popsicle stick tall. Structural Requirements Three Popsicle sticks long. Support beams must be no more than one Popsicle stick tall.	Fair The student's bridge did not meet any of the structural requirements.	Good The student's bridge meets some the structural requirements. It was slightly shorter than three Popsicle sticks long, and/or if support beams were used, they were taller than one Popsicle stick high.	Distinguished The student's bridge meets all the structural requirements. It is at least three Popsicle sticks long. If support beams were used, they were no taller than one Popsicle stick high.
Weight Held The goal was to have the bridge hold 5 pounds.	Fair The students bridge held no weight.	Good The student's bridge held any amount of weight less than five pounds.	Distinguished The student's bridge held five or more pounds.
Packet Students had a planning and reflection packet to complete with this project.	Fair All or most of this packet was not completed, or was completed incorrectly.	Good Almost all of the packet is completed. Answers show time, effort, and thoughtfulness on the student's part.	Distinguished All of the packet was completed. Work shows that the student put time and effort into completing questions. The student took the project seriously and applied their critical thinking skills to design and reflection.
Performance How the student completed the task in class. Did the student follow directions, work with materials appropriately, and follow classroom expectations.	Fair Student did not follow all directions for the assignment. The student was mostly off task and needed constant redirection to get back on task. Most classroom behavior expectations were not met.	Good Student followed all directions for the assignment and work to complete the task with only minor redirection needed. Most classroom behavior expectations were met.	Distinguished Student followed all directions for the assignment and work diligently to complete the task. Classroom behavior expectations were met.
