Basketball Skills Rubric
	Exceptional 4 pts	Proficient 3 pts	Inconsistent 2 pts	Needs Improvement 1 pts
Ball Dribbling 1. Uses the fingertips and not palm when dribbling 2. Uses entire arm movement to dribble 3. Eyes up when dribbling 4. Dribbles waist height 5. Looks forward, not at ball 6. Able to move and control ball	Exceptional Demonstrates all elements every time dribbling.	Proficient Demonstrates at least 3 of the 4 elements on a consistent basis.	Inconsistent Demonstrates 2 or less of the elements	Needs Improvement Unable to control the ball during dribbling.
Chest Pass 1. Starts pass at the chest level 2. Shifts weight and steps into the pass 3. Extends arms 4. Snaps wrist downward and outward at end of pass	Exceptional	Proficient	Inconsistent	Needs Improvement
Shooting 1. Ball is balanced on the pad of the shooting hand 2.Elbow of shooting hand is under the ball and in line with knee and toe 3. Eyes are on the target/basket. 4.
