Always ready and prepared. Always practicing in class and always have great questions that help the student improve.

The student is prepared most of the time. Only a few days in a semester that he or she is not on task.
Good

The student is rarely prepared and seldom practices due to laziness therefore affects the overall performance.
Needs Improvement

The student is never prepared, never practices and often absent resulting in failing grade.
Tone

Clear Excellence

Tone is consistently rich sounding and clear, tone is strong and warm professional quality
Satisfactory

Tone is usually rich and clear sounding. Tone is mostly warm with above standard quality
Good

Tone is not consistent, sometimes good and sometimes weak. Tone is of mediocre quality and needs improvement
Needs Improvement

Tone is often weak and not clear throughout. More and consistent practice is needed
Overall performance

Clear Excellence

Student always performs with appropriate dynamics, phrasing, articulation and confidence.
Satisfactory

Most elements are followed and most of the articulation signs are observed. Most phrases are performed correctly with confidence.
Good

Some dynamics are observed; some articulation is performed; some phrases are completed and musically accurate
Needs Improvement

No dynamics and no use of articulation and phrasing. There is clear evidence that the student did not work on the required elements.
