	Needs Improvement 1 pts	Satisfactory 2 pts	Good 3 pts	Excellent 4 pts
Organization	Needs Improvement Sequence of information is difficult to follow.	Satisfactory Reader has difficulty following work because writer jumps around.	Good Student presents information in logical sequence which reader can follow.	Excellent Student presents information in logical, interesting sequence which reader can follow.
Exaggeration and Hyperbole	Needs Improvement Tall tale contains no exaggeration or hyperbole.	Satisfactory Tall Tale contains very little exaggeration or hyperbole.	Good Tall Tale contains some exaggeration or hyperbole.	Excellent Tall Tale contains much exaggeration or hyperbole.
Grammar and Spelling	Needs Improvement Work has 10 or more spelling errors and/or grammatical errors.	Satisfactory Work has 7 spelling errors and/or grammatical errors.	Good Work has no more than 5 spelling errors and/or grammatical errors.	Excellent Presentation has no spelling errors and/or grammatical errors.
Neatness	Needs Improvement Work is illegible.	Satisfactory Work has three or four areas that are sloppy.	Good Work has one or two areas that are sloppy.	Excellent Work is neatly done.
Character	Needs Improvement Does not fit the genre tall tale. Not a hero.	Satisfactory Character displays two or less hero traits.	Good Character displays four or five hero characteristics.	Excellent Now that's what I call a hero!!!
