Participation, Contributions
Level 1, Novice
Often absent, rarely contributes useful ideas and feedback in group. Does not complete initiatives presented to the group. Intermittently refuses to participate.
Level 2, Apprentice
Sometimes contributes useful ideas and feedback when participating in the group. A satisfactory participant who does what is required.
Level 3, Proficient
Routinely provides useful ideas and feedback when participating in the group. A strong group member. Often a leader who contributes a great deal to the group.
Level 4, Distinguished
Consistently contributes useful ideas and feedback when particpating in group. A leader who contributes tremendously to the group. Almost always supports others.
Attitude
Level 1, Novice
Often negative about group initiatives and critical of the work of other group members.
Level 2, Apprentice
Occasionally negative about group initiatives and critical of other members in the group. Intermittently has a postive attitude about the activity and group.
Level 3, Proficient
Has a positive attitude most of the time about the group initiatives and other members in the group. Rarely critical.
Level 4, Distinguished
Always has a positive attitude about the group initiatives and supportive of other members in the group.
Problem Solving
Level 1, Novice
Does not try to help solve problems or help others solve problems. Lets others do the work.
Level 2, Apprentice
Does not suggest or refine solutions, but is willing to try out solutions suggested by others.
Level 3, Proficient
Often looks for and suggests possible solutions. Is willing to work with others to refine suggestions.
Level 4, Distinguished
Actively looks for and suggests workable solutions to problems. Accepts feedback and criticism concerning these solutions. Refines solutions based on these suggestions.
Working with Others
Level 1, Novice
Rarely listens to, shares with, and supports the efforts of others. Often is not a good team player. Little or no effort made to establish positive relationships with group members.
Level 2, Apprentice
Intermittently listens to, shares with, and supports the efforts of others, but sometimes is not a good team member. Some effort made to establish positive relationships with group members.
Level 3, Proficient
Usually listens to, shares with, and supports the efforts of others. Does not cause "waves" in the group. Establishes positive relationships with group members.
Level 4, Distinguished
Almost always listens to, shares with, and supports the efforts of others and the team as a whole. Supports everyone on the team and encourages their individual strengths.
Emotionally Safe Environment
Level 1, Novice
Little or no effort is made, through words or actions, to create or maintain a safe emotional environment. Often engages in the use of put downs, teasing, name calling behaviors.
Level 2, Apprentice
Some effort is made, through words and actions, to create or maintain a safe emotional environment. Intermittently engages in the use of put downs, teasing, name calling behaviors.
Level 3, Proficient
Effort is made most of the time, through words and actions, to create and maintain a safe emotional environment. Rarely is seen engaging in the use of put downs, teasing, name calling behaviors.
Level 4, Distinguished
Effort is always made, through words and actions, to create and maintain a safe emotional environment. Is always supportive and positive with other group members. Never engages in the use of put downs, teasing, name calling behaviors.
Physically Safe Environment
Level 1, Novice
Little or no effort is made through actions or words, to create and maintain a safe physical environment. Complete lack of attention and focus to designated safety procedures.
Level 2, Apprentice
Some effort is made, through actions and words, to create and maintain a safe physical environment. Intermittent compliance with designated safety procedures.
Level 3, Proficient
Effort is made most of the time, through actions and words, to create and maintain a safe physical environment. Consistently follows and complies with designated safety procedures.
Level 4, Distinguished
Effort is always made, through actions and words, to create and maintain a safe physical environment. Initiates reminders for compliance to all designated physical safety procedures with other members in the group.
