Effective Business Communication
The aim of these lessons are to explore the different aspects of communication within the business environment and to familiarize the student with the basic communication principles in business. To satisfy this part, the program engages in: (1) Teaching, to examine the KSA’s that are key to effective communication, (2) Research and explore other means of communication to help understand the aspects, process, effects, and their doles and restrictions to methods of communication, (3) Interdisciplinary teaching and research on the role that hidden communication plays in our business lives.

Makes disruptive grammatical/syntactical errors such as run-ons, fragments, unintelligible sentences. (5 errors)

Makes repeated severe grammatical or syntactical errors. Fails to catch spelling or homonym errors. (6 or more errors)

Communication is structured in a way that is specifically for the intended audience.
Purpose is clearly stated.
Proficient
Audience is addressed but writing needs more focus tailoring it towards the audience
Purpose is generally clear but needs to be more specific
Basic
Is clear; correctly analyzes the audience; makes no serious false step; gets the job done.
Below Expectations
Is unclear about the purpose; unclear topic sentences, arrangement of ideas, and transitions.
Non-Performance
Presents a disorganized, unprofessional document. Projects a negative image of the writer and the organization.
