Pitch Accuracy	Poor Cannot match pitch. The student shows no confidence.	Fair The student can match some pitch, but still has difficulty hearing notes. Lacks confidence.	Good The student can accurately match more than 50 percent of pitches. The student may still have trouble with chromaticism and large leaps. Confidence is still present.	Superior The student can accurately match at least 90 percent of pitches. Student performs pitches confidently and flawlessly.	total points
Vocal Quality	Poor The student may sing loud, rough and closed.	Fair The student has awareness of vocal quality, but is still lacking the desired open-throat sound.	Good The student has good vocal quality, including a smooth, open tone. The student may have difficulty in extreme ranges or difficult music.	Superior The student exemplifies the model choral sound, having an open, free sound. The student does not struggle to produce tone.	total points
Rhythm/independance	Poor Very few accurate or secure rhythms. Performance lacks solid preparation of rhythms. Is not a secure part singer at this time.	Fair The beat is somewhat inconsistent. Some rhythms are accurate, but there are frequent and/or repeated errors. Several times are out of sinc with other singer.	Good The beat is secure and the rhythms are mostly accurate. There are a few incorrect rhythm patterns. Is almost always able to hold part securely.	Superior Virtually no errors. All rhythms are accurately performed. Is able to keep part securely as a leader.	total points
Song of Choice	Poor Student could not sing the song on the pitch given. Student changed pitches and had trouble singing the melody of the song.	Fair Student did not start on the correct pitch; but was able to finish the song correctly after being redirected.	Good Student sang the song correctly. There were a few pitch problems, but the melody of the song was more than 75% accurate.	Superior Student sang the song without any flaws and with confidence.	total points
