Wire sheathed at proper length Sheathed at minimum of 6" and maximum of 8".	Unsatisfactory Less than 3 inches or less or greater than 10".	Substandard Length is 3-5 inches.	Average Length is 5-5.5 inches or 8 to 10 inches.	Above Average Length is 6-8 inches.	Excellent All wire to 6-8" and only 1/4" of jacket in box.
Wire Insulation free from nicks which exposes wire.	Unsatisfactory More than three wires nicked.	Substandard 3 wires nicked.	Average 2 wires nicked.	Above Average 1 wire nicked.	Excellent No wires nicked.
3-way Switch wiring If not wired properly it won't work.	Unsatisfactory Needed too much help to get it wired properly so light worked.	Substandard Extra guidance needed or extra suggestions needed.	Average Needed some guidance to get it wired correctly.	Above Average Light worked after a minor adjustment.	Excellent 3-way switches and light worked correctly first time.
Wire Nut connection All wires are tight in the nut, no loose wire. No bare wire showing.	Unsatisfactory Copper is showing and wire nut is loose.	Substandard No copper showing but wire nut is loose.	Average Wire nut is tight, but copper is showing.	Above Average No loose or bare wires.	Excellent No loose or bare wires and splices tucked neatly into box.
