Engineering Design Process

Imagine	Poor Little or No evidence of imagine.	Fair Some evidence of imagine was observed.	Good Good evidence of the group thinking and brainstorming about what they were going to build.	Excellent Imagined/brainstormed what they were going to build.
Sketch Plan	Poor Little or no evidence was planned out. They did not plan what they were going to build nor plan on what materials to use in the building.	Fair Some evidence of a plan. There was some thought, not really thought out.	Good Good evidence of planning done. Plan wasn't quite complete.	Excellent I can really see what you are going to be building. I can't wait to see how you build your shoe.
Time Management	Poor Did not use time well. Time was wasted during the imagine, plan, and design phase of engineering.	Fair Sometimes used time well. There were times when got off task during the imagine, plan, and design phase.	Good Good use of time, there were a few times got off task, but for the majority of the task time was well spent.	Excellent Great use of time. Stayed on task during each phase of the process.
Creativitity	Poor The work is not very creative. The approach is trite and the ideas cliched, leading to a flat and predictable product. There is little sense of the creator's touch, voice, or style here	Fair The work is creative. The ideas/materials/methods used are effective. A voice and style are present.	Good The work is highly creative. The ideas/materials/methods used are imaginative and effective. The is attention to detail. A clear and confident voice and style are present.	Excellent The work is unusually creative. The ideas/materials//methods used are novel, striking, and highly effective. Important ideas/feelings are illuminated or highlighted in sophisticated ways. The creation shows great imagination, insight, style and daring.
Craftmanship	Poor Student does basic craftsmanship but skills are still developing.	Fair Student shows great craftsmanship skill but lacks confidence that they can go over and beyond.	Good Student demonstrates great craftsmanship skills and elaborates with teachers and neighbors of what they can do better.	Excellent Student demonstrates excellent craftsmanship skills and constantly thinking outside of the box to accomplish what they want personally from project.
