Dicussion	Excellent Student thoroughly discussed all points of argument, both pros and cons for each side.	Good Student argued their position using points that favored their position, used counterarguments when appropriate.	Fair Student used few points of debate, offered little to no counterarguments.	Poor Student discussed few to no points of debate.
Contribution	Excellent Student came prepared to discussion, had knowledge of the topic, and took initiative to bring op debates.	Good Student somewhat prepared, offered thought-out arguments.	Fair Student not very well prepared, offered few arguments and little to no new debate material.	Poor Student was unprepared, offered no support to arguments and did not debate or engage with discussion.
Communication	Excellent Student communicated clearly and concisely, was engaging, and kept discussion moving forward	Good Student worked well with partner, and was able to articulate argument.	Fair Student somewhat able to articulate argument, but not very engaged with discussion or partner.	Poor Student was absent from discussion or had little to no engagement in debate.
