Playing Tests

Tone	Poor Tone is not well supported and airy. Notes are not clearly produced.<BR> <BR> Percussionists do not perform with a consistent sound.	Fair Tone is not well supported, but notes are all audible.<BR> <BR> Percussion sound demonstrates great variation.	Okay Tone is fairly supported with moments of breathiness.<BR> <BR> Percussion sound demonstrates some variation.	Good Tone is consistantly supported.<BR> <BR> Percussion sound is consistent with minor variation.	Excellent Tone is well supported and clear on all notes.<BR> <BR> Percussion sound is consistent throughout the exercise.
Notes	Poor Majority of fingerings are not known, and the student cannot change between notes.	Fair Fingerings are sometimes correct, but student cannot change between notes without hesitation.	Okay Fingerings are mostly correct, but changes between notes are mostly muddy.	Good All fingerings are correct but changes are not all clean.	Excellent All fingerings are correct, and changes between fingerings are clean.
Rhythm	Poor Majority of the rhythms are not known.	Fair Rhythms are sometimes correct, but there is hesitation.	Okay Rhythms are mostly correct with few variations.	Good Rhythms are generally correct with some discrepancy is releases and/or rest length.	Excellent All rhythms are performed correctly.
Posture/Positioning	Poor Student is slouched and/or rests his/her instrument or arms on his/her lap. <BR> <BR> Feet are not flat on the floor.	Fair Student is slouched.<BR> <BR> Feet are flat on the floor sometimes.	Okay Student begins sitting up straight but slouches as he/she plays.<BR> <BR> Feet are flat on the floor the majority of the time with some variation.	Good Student is a little slouched as he/she plays. <BR> <BR> Feet are flat on the floor the majority of the time, with few variations.	Excellent Student sits up straight through the entire exercise/piece. <BR> <BR> Feet are flat on the floor.
