Technique/Quality of Movement	Excellent Dance performed with great attention to quality of movement, clear footwork, and placement. Also demonstrates an excellent understanding of dance style.	Good Dance performed with attention to details of technique, but quality of movement and sound aren't quite clear.	Fair Only some understanding of technical elements (ie. footwork, quality of movements) demonstrated in the exercise.	Poor Although remembers some of tap sequence, little attention paid to how movements are done or other details of choreography.
Knowledge of Choreography	Excellent Dancers demonstrate full knowledge of the choreography with great confidence and clarity.	Good Dancers demonstrate a strong knowledge of the dance piece.	Fair Dancers knows some of the choreography but fails to demonstrate piece without assistance.	Poor Dancer does not demonstrate knowledge of choreography clearly.
Focus/Effort	Excellent The dancer performs exercise with a great deal of energy and effort.	Good The dancer performs with a good amount of energy and effort.	Fair The dancer is generally focused, but only some attempt made to perform with energy and strength.	Poor The dancer is not very focused, concentrated or committed to exercise.
Rhythm/Tempo	Excellent Shows a complete understanding of tempo and beat and stays on rhythmn throughout the exercise.	Good Generally accurate in beat, tempo, rhythms of exercise sequence most of the time.	Fair Shows a basic understanding of tempo and beat, but falls behind and/or speeds up in places or makes errors in rhythm.	Poor Attempts to keep a rhythm, but gets off beat and speeds up or falls behind often. Doesn't follow beat in music.
Overall Performance	Excellent Excellent overall impression. Dancer performs with full confidence and enthusiasm. Fun to watch!	Good Good overall impression. Dancer appears to be fairly confident and prepared for most of the performance.	Fair The dancer's overall impression is below expected level. Dancer is distracted and insecure. Dancer breaks performance by looking around, talking, or giggling throughout the performance.	Poor The dancer's overall impression is very weak. They are often breaking the performance by looking around, talking, and giggling throughout the performance.
