Title	NY The student did not include a title.	AC The title was not appropriate for the story. The title was not written using capital letters.	AB The title was not appropriate or the student did not use capital letters.	EX The title was appropriate for the story. It was capitalized and placed at the top of the story.
Paragraph form	NY The student did not space title and body of paragraph correctly. There was no indentation.	AC The student did use one indentation but did not use the margins correctly for flowing form.	AB The student did use indentation, but paragraph is still lacking good form.	EX The paragraph was indented and the student used good paragraph formation by utilizing both margins of the paper.
Sentence structure	NY The student used poor sentence structure.	AC The student used a few good sentences in the paragraph.	AB The student used good sentences throughout most of the paragraph.	EX All sentences were structured correctly. The student used some simple and some compound sentences.
Main idea/topic sentence	NY The student did not have a topic sentence or main idea in the paragraph.	AC The student had a main idea or topic sentence stated but some of the details did not support the topic.	AB The student used a good topic sentence and most sentences supported the main idea.
