Good Journal entry has less than 3-4 complete sentences in a paragraph. An adequate summary of the events of the passage is given.	Average Journal entry has 3 complete sentences or less. A poor summary is given.	Poor Journal response has not been completed at all.
Response Quality	Excellent Responses are fully developed and strongly on-topic.	Good Responses are acceptably developed and remain on-topic for the most part.	Average Responses are underdeveloped and do not remain on-topic.	Poor Response is critically underdeveloped and lacking in the key areas of basic English.
