Poster and presentation rubric 
The students will work in groups of three to put together a poster for display and presentation. The poster will contain relevant information directly related to the study of animal habitats. Students will provide information on their chosen topic in a creative and colorful poster. The poster will be designed on poster board (full-sized).

information gained through diligent research required for the assignment.
Good Work

Poster includes all relevant information; however, it is not well-organized or easily understood. Three to four examples/facts are included.
Fair

Does not have all of the relevant information. There is not enough information presented. Information is presented in an unorganized fashion and may be hard to understand. One to two examples/facts are included.
Needs improvement

The poster is lacking in elements required. There are many gaps in information presented and facts presented are inaccurate. Confusing.
Work quality/effort

Excellent Work

The work done exceeds all expectations and shows that the group is proud of their work. Includes 5 NEAT illustrations or color pictures. Text is clear, neat and straight
Good Work

The work was done with good effort that shows what the group is capable of. It is evident that time was put into this poster and presentation. Includes 4 NEAT illustrations or color pictures. Text is clear, neat and straight but too tiny for presentation.
Fair

Work is done with fair effort, but the quality is still not what group is capable of. It is evident that the work was rushed. Includes 3 NEAT illustrations or pictures. All images are black and white. Text is to small, messy or crooked.
Needs improvement

Work is done with little effort, quality is not what the group is capable of. It is evident that the work was rushed and little time was spent on the final product. Work is incomplete. Includes 0 - 2 illustrations or pictures. All images are black and white. Text is illegible and crooked/messy and tiny.
Creativity

Excellent Work

Eye catching. Great use of colors, texture, shapes, and spacing on poster. Creativity is shown to in every area on the poster. Writing is easy to read.
Good Work

Contains groups own ideas. Lots of colors, shapes, and appealing design. Shows group spent time creating an artistic piece.
Fair

Not very appealing. Limited use of creative materials. Not alot of color/shapes/design. Most of the drawings/writing is group's own ideas.
Needs improvement

Lacks original creativity. Not good use of space on poster. Messy. Lacks color, texture.
Format/presentation

Excellent Work

Poster is of exceptional quality and presentation. Nothing hanging or falling off. Submitted on time.
Good Work

Poster is correct size, clean and neatly displayed. No items falling off. Submitted on due date.
Fair

Poster is damaged, poorly presented. Poster was possibly submitted 1 day later than original due date. Some items possibly falling off.
Needs improvement

Not on required poster paper and/or submitted 2 days late. Pieces/items falling or hanging off.
Voice

Excellent Work

Students' voices were loud and clear. Information was easy to understand
Good Work

Voices are good with minimal gaps in flow of information
Fair

Voices are acceptable - many gaps in flow of information or times voices could not be understood by all.
Needs improvement

Students did not speak in a tone that could be heard by all students - too soft. Information too hard to understand.
