	Excellent/Profficient (A) 9 pts	Good/Fairly Proficient (B) 7 pts	Average (C) 5 pts	Below Average (D) 3 pts
Quality of Design Enter criteria description	Excellent/Profficient (A) Type and/or image resolution was of the highest quality. The use of layer styles enhances the image, does not detract.	Good/Fairly Proficient (B) Type and/or image resolution was of good quality. The use of layer styles enhanced some parts of the image.	Average (C) Type and/or image resolution appears to be pixelated. The use of layer styles do not enhance the overall project.	Below Average (D) The overall quality of the type and images is very poor. Layer styles are not used at all.
Creativity Enter criteria description	Excellent/Profficient (A) All of the type, graphic, image elements used in the Project reflect an exceptional degree of student creativity in their assignment.	Good/Fairly Proficient (B) One or two of the type, graphic, and/or image elements used in the Project reflect student creativity in their assignment.	Average (C) The type, graphic and/or image elements used in the Project were made or customized by the student, but the ideas were typical rather than creative.	Below Average (D) There was not attempt to use the type tool creatively. The project should have died a long time ago.
Use of Type Tools Enter criteria description	Excellent/Profficient (A) Multiple type tools were used to create the desired effects. Type is proportional and aesthetically pleasing.	Good/Fairly Proficient (B) Several (1-3) type tools were used to create the desired effects. Overall the type is proportional and pleasing.	Average (C) Some of the type is not proportional or aesthetically pleasing.	Below Average (D) Type tools were barely used. The changes were barely noticeable.
Background	Excellent/Profficient (A) The background is appropriate. Images or colors used are of high quality. The background enhances the type.	Good/Fairly Proficient (B) The background is appropriate. Images or colors used are of average quality. The background does not effect the type.	Average (C) The background is appropriate. Images or colors used are of poor quality. The background competes with the type.	Below Average (D) The background is poorly used and constructed. Looks like it was quickly placed or created.
