Above Average Student exhibits that he/she has spent time in planning and organizing his/her response before writing. It is fairly clear and concise and fairly easy to read.	Average Student exhibits that he/she has spent some time in planning and organizing his/her response before writing. There is some organization to the essay. It is somewhat clear and concise and somewhat easy to read.	Below Average Student exhibits that he/she has spent little to no time in planning and organizing his/her response before writing. There is little to no organization of the essay. It is hard to follow and is not clear and concise. It is hard to read.	Poor/Unacceptable Student exhibits that he/she has spent no time at all in planning and organzing his/her response before writing. There is no organization of the essay at all. It is very hard to follow and is not clear and concise. It is very hard to read.
Content and Understanding Question	Excellent The student thoroughly understands the question by giving numerous examples and specific details and correlating them to the topic, and follows the topic fully throughout the entire essay.
