SPeaking and Listening Standards:
	Unsatisfactory 1 pts	Emerging 2 pts	Proficient 3 pts
Collaboration & Comprehension	Unsatisfactory Student is having difficulty collaborating with a partner. Students does not maintain eye contact with partner in conversation. Student does not have appropriate listening skills (does not sit properly, interrupts speaker).	Emerging Student collaborates with partner at times during conversation. Student has eye contact but gets easily distracted. Student is working on listening skills and able to complete task half of the time.	Proficient Student works collaboratively and is very active in conversation. Student complete focus and maintains eye contact with partner. Students shows active listening skills and does not interrupt speaker at any point in time.
Asking Questions	Unsatisfactory Student does not demonstrate understanding of task even with support. Student is not willing to ask and answer any questions from partner. Student is off task and does not ask question relating to the text.	Emerging Student shows some understanding of task with little support. Student engages partner by asking and answering some questions relating to the text. Student is on task and ask few questions relating to the text.	Proficient Student shows deep understanding of task without any support. Students engages partner with meaningful questions to deepen understanding. Student shows enthusiasm and is on task at any given time. Ask questions relating to the text.
Clarification	Unsatisfactory Student has no idea on how to approach what is difficult. Student does not try to clarify what is not understood because he lacks language skills even with support.	Emerging Student has idea to ask questions to clarify what is not understood. With support, student's thought is put together in form of question and answers questions with support.	Proficient student ask questions to clarify what is not understood and answers questions based on what is understood correctly.
