Making Predictions
	Below 2 pts	Basic 3 pts	Proficient 4 pts	Advanced 5 pts
Clarifying Able to make a clear prediction of what will happen next in the story.	Below Student is NOT able to give a clear prediction of what will happen in the text.	Basic Student is able to give a prediction of what will happen next in the text, but continually, but needs assistance to use correct words.	Proficient Student is able to give a prediction of what will happen next in the text, yet does not add too many details.	Advanced Is able to give a clear and well written/spoken prediction of what will happen next in the text.
Prediction Can make a prediction based on details from the passage	Below Student did not make a prediction nor was prediction based on details from the passage. The prediction is off topic.	Basic Prediction is acceptable, but there are not at least 2 details from the passage to support the prediction.	Proficient Prediction is acceptable, but there is only 1 detail from the passage to support the prediction.	Advanced Prediction is acceptable and based on details from the passage. Predictions is based on characters motivation and/or characters history.
