Melodic Direction	Exceeds Student recognizes melodic direction when singing.	Proficient Student notices melodic direction most of the time when singing.	Proficient Students notices melodic direction some of the time when singing.	Novice Student is still working on recognizing melodic direction.	Novice Student is unable to recognize melodic direction.
Kodaly	Exceeds Student can sing solfege syllables with the correct hand signs at the same time.	Proficient Student can sing about five solfege syllables with the correct hand signs at the same time.	Proficient Student can sing about three solfege syllables with the correct hand signs at the same time.	Novice Student can sing about two solfege syllables with the correct hand signs at the same time.
