Classroom Observation Journals
Undergraduate students: Ten hours of observation in a classroom or different classrooms with English learners. Observe what you notice. What connections to the text do you observe? Are you able to assist the teacher in any way? As you type the reflections, include the terminology presented in Diaz-Rico, Herrell & Jordan, Gibbons, or class lecture. Make sure you provide your own thoughts, critique, and reflections on the experience. Include a final journal entry with an overview of strategies observed, final reflection, and critique of the experience. Apply the new knowledge acquired in your typewritten observation reports.
