Exceeding the Standard

Lead contains most or all of the 5W's and H. Article is organized and flows well. Purpose is identified clearly.

There are no transitional phrases and limited use of transitional words. There are no paragraphs and little organisation of sequence.

Simple words are spelled correctly although words that are two or more syllables may be spelled incorrectly. Tense may shift throughout the writing. Punctuation and grammar may be inconsistent.
Exceeding the Standard

Spell correctly most words. Write consistently in one tense (past, present). Punctuation and grammar mostly correct.
