Sequence Enter criteria description	3 Student retells all the important events in the sequence or order they happened.	2 Student retells some of the important events in the sequence or order they happened.	1 Student doesn't retell any of the important events in the sequence or order they happened.
Characters Enter criteria description	3 Student includes the names of all the main characters in his her retelling of the story.	2 Student includes the names of half of the main characters in his/her retelling of the story.	1 Student doesn't include the names of any main characters in his/her retelling of the story.
Setting	3 Student includes all settings mentioned.	2 Student includes only some of the settings.	1 Student doesn't include settings.
