Build a Complete Circuit Build a Complete Circuit Students use a simulation as well as a battery, light bulbs, wires, to create a parallel and series circuit. 	Poor 20 pts	Fair 25 pts	Good 33 pts
Model	Poor The student drew a model of one of the circuit but did not identify the parts.	Fair The student drew a model of one of the two circuit and identified it correclty.	Good The student drew a model of a series and parallel circuit correctly, correctly identified each circuit.
Circuit	Poor Incomplete and/or absent circuit.	Fair The student attempted to construct a complete circuit; but, made a mistake with the lightbulb and/or wire.	Good The student created a complete circuit using all materials.
Written explanation	Poor Incomplete, incorrect or absent written explanation.	Fair The students attempted to explain the complete circuit in written form; but, did not use appropriate scientific vocabulary.	Good The student created a written explanation of the circuit using appropriate scientific vocabulary (electric cell, electricity, circuit, complete, current.)
Comparison	Poor The student was not able to explain the difference between parallel and series circuit.	Fair The student attemped to explain the difference between parallel and series circuit with but explanation was unclear or vague	Good Student was able to explain the difference between parallel and series circuit
Mathematical analysis	Poor Mathematical understanding lacking.	Fair Some understanding of Ohm's Law and how voltage, current and resistance relate.	Good Mastery of Ohm's Law. Complete understanding of mathematical analysis demonstrated.
