Perfromance Assessment

Knowledge of choreography	1 Dancer barely knows choreography and often is unable to catch back up with group.	2 Not Yet Remembers a few of the steps/movements and tries but looks lost and out of sync with others. Dancer is not confident and often watches others.	3 Some Demonstrates some knowledge of choreography, but unsure of some movements. Sometimes hesitates/watches others and makes errors.	4 Almost Demonstrates good knowledge of choreography. Keeps up with the group. Very few errors. Dancer is mostly confident.	5 Yes! Demonstrates excellent knowledge of the chorepgraphy and does it well.
Technical Skills	1 Student does not pay attention to how move should be executed.	2 Although remembers some of the dance, little attention is paid to how movements are done or other details. Movements look lazy	3 Only some understanding of technical elements (i.e. footwork, quality of movements and body positions)	4 Movement is performed with attention to most details of technique. Movements are mostly big and clear.	5 Movement is performed with great attention to quality of movement, body position, footwork and quality of movement is present throughout the demonstration.
Rhythm & Timing	1 Rhythm and timing are not together at all with music.	2 Attempts to keep a rhythm but gets off beat. Speeds up or fall behind the music regularly.	3 Shows a basic understanding of tempo and beat but sometimes falls behind and/or speeds up in places.	4 Generally accurate in beat, tempo and rhythm. Occasionally falls of the beat.	5 Shows a complete understanding of tempo and beat and stays on rhythm throughout the dance.
Focus	1 Focus is not on dance and there is little to no presence.	2 Dancers' focus is never or seldom at a high level. Dancer shows low energy and little presence.	3 Dancers' focus is sometimes at a high level but eyes wander. Dancer sometimes shows high energy and presence.	4 Dancers' focus is mostly at high level with steady eyes, high energy and presence.	5 Dancers' focus is always a high level with steady eyes, high energy and presence.
