Sentence Structure Sentence Structure Assesses students ability with sentence structures. Rubric Code: UX4527C By ebaratti Ready to use Public Rubric Subject: English Type: Writing Grade Levels: 6-8, 9-12

Sentence Structures
	Poor 1 pts	Fair 2 pts	Good 3 pts
Complete Sentences	Poor Student is lacking in the ability to consistantly write sentences with all the necessary components.	Fair Student is able to complete sentences but is lacking in the ability to use correct tenses and or order the sentence in a way to make sense.	Good Student is able to create complete full sentences that make sense in term of word order and tenses.
Use of Grammar (as a whole)	Poor Student does not use appropriate grammar, causing the sentence to have clear meaning.	Fair Student has a grasp on correct grammar allowing the sentences to make sense even if grammar isn't 100% correct.	Good Student has correct grammar with few or no errors making the sentences very clear.
Sentence Variance	Poor Student tends to use one sentence length and does not use varying language.	Fair Can see an awkward attempt at verying sentence length and language.	Good Can see a clear variance of length and language that makes sense to the reader.
Sentence Punctuation	Poor Student misses commas and periods.	Fair Some punctuation, but errors or misuse of commas.	Good Correct punctuation throughout the sentence.
