Poor (Level 1)

-Student uses two hands instead of one to shoot.
Good (Level 3)
Student shoots the ball correctly.
-Student follows through.
-Student is usually successful in shooting.

-Shoots the ball off the dribble, left/right
-Has good rhythm

-Good mid-range
-Is successful under pressure situations.
Dribble Basketball
Poor (Level 1)
Student seldomly dribbles the basketball with control while moving
-Dribbles with palm of hand and head down
-Rigid stance, knees not bent.

Student can dribble the basketball while moving
-Does not have good control
-Cannot dribble with head up
-Sometimes dribbles with finger pads
Good (Level 3)
Student can dribble the basketball with good control and proper positioning
-Student dribbles with head up
-Student dribbles with finger pads, knees bent
-Able to pivot while dribbling
Excellent (Level 4)
-Opposite hand under control
-Pounds the ball
-Dribbles with head up
-Shows above average ball-handling
Passing Basketball
Poor (Level 1)
-Student rarely pass the ball successfully
-Does not follow through on pass
-Cannot get the pass to teammates
-Does not make sure the pass recipient is ready for the ball
Fair ( Level 2)
-Student can sometimes pass the ball successfully
-Sometimes follows through the pass
-Sometimes make sure the pass recipient is ready for the ball
Good (Level 3)
Student regularly passes the ball correctly
-Follows through on pass
-Usually completes the pass to a teammate
-Usually makes sure their teammate is ready for the pass
Excellent (Level 4)
Student consistently passes the ball correctly
-Reads the defense
-One hand lead-ins
-Uses the right pass for the right situation
-Is accurate with their passing
Ball-Handling
Poor (Level 1)
-Student rarely catches the ball correctly.
-Has difficulty performing the skills successfully after many attempts.
-Loses control of the ball.
-Cannot maneuver the ball
Fair ( Level 2)
-Student can sometimes catch the ball correctly.
-Can occasionally perform different ball-handling drills successfully.
-Maneuvering the ball still choppy.

-Student has a fair understanding of offensive and defensive play
