(E) Support	Poor The support shows very little or no connection to the topic sentence	Fair The support is connected to the topic sentence, but it's a stretch to make the connection.	Good It is very easy to see how the support answers the question "why?". The support is connected to the topic sentence.
(L) Link	Poor The link does not discuss how the E is supportive of the topic sentence. Examples are few or non-existent.	Fair The link is very weak in that there is only one sentence, or the it's difficult to see how the link relates to the support. (E)	Good There are at least two sentences, and it is easy to see how the link supports the (E) and is connected to the topic sentence.
