	Superior 25 pts	Satisfactory 22 pts	Adequate 18 pts	Poor 15 pts
Parts	Superior Student has all of the following categories represented within their composition: melody, harmony, rhythm, bass, and personality characteristics	Satisfactory Student only has three of the following categories represented within their composition: melody, harmony, rhythm, bass and personality characteristics	Adequate Student only has two of the following categories represented within their composition: melody, harmony, rhythm, bass and personality characteristics	Poor Student only has one of the following categories within their composition: melody, harmony, rhythm, bass and personality characteristics
Measures	Superior Student has a composition of 8 to 16 measures.	Satisfactory Student has written minimum of 7 measures.	Adequate Student has written minimum of 4 measures.	Poor Student has less than a 4 measures
Flow	Superior Student's composition has a logical combination of three sounds that create a new composition.	Satisfactory Student's composition has a logical combination of two sounds that create a new composition.	Adequate Student's composition has a logical combination of one sound that create a new composition.	Poor Student's composition has no logical combination of sounds that create a new composition.
