Evaluation of Online Discussions 9=3 points 6-8=2 points 3-5=1 point <3= 0 points 1 point or less = unsatisfactory
	Unsatisfactory 0 pts	Basic 1 pts	Proficient 2 pts	Distinguished 3 pts
Timely	Unsatisfactory Posts are often or always late or not at all.	Basic Posts are sometimes on time.	Proficient Posts are usually made on time.	Distinguished Posts are always on time or early.
Conversational	Unsatisfactory Replies to no other student's posts. Does not reply to responses on his/her own initial post.	Basic Replies to 1 other student's post. May or may not reply to responses on his/her own initial post.	Proficient Replies to 1-2 other student's posts. Replies to responses on his/her own initial post.	Distinguished Replies to 1-2 or more students' posts. Replies to any posts made on your initial post in a timely manor.
Quality	Unsatisfactory Post and replies are not relevant to the discussion.	Basic Post and replies are relevant to the discussion.	Proficient Post and replies are relevant to the discussion and encourage further discussion.	Distinguished Post and replies are relevant to the discussion, encourage further discussion and include resources (links, articles, websites, etc...) that enhance the learning.
