Poetry Recitation
	Excellent 10 pts	Good 8 pts	Fair 6 pts
Preparation / presentation	Excellent Student is well prepared and it is obvious poem is rehearsed thoroughly.	Good Student is prepared but the presentation of the poem requires a few more rehearsals.	Fair Student is not well prepared and would benefit from many more rehearsals.
Memorization	Excellent The student has memorized the entire poem and is able to present it without error.	Good The student has memorized entire poem and is able to present with just one error from which h/she recovers.	Fair The student has memorized entire poem and is able to present, however makes three+ errors and doesn't recover.
Fluidity	Excellent The speaker recites the poem without any major breaks or errors. If an error is made, it is quickly corrected.	Good There is one major pause or break where the speaker looses the fluidity of the poem.	Fair There are several pauses or breaks where the speaker looses the fluidity of the poem.
Clarity/Expression/Accent	Excellent The student speaks clearly, distinctly, and with appropriate and varied pitch and tone modulation. Recites loudly enough for all to hear throughout the presentation.	Good The student speaks clearly and distinctly. Some minor lapses in pitch, tone and volume OR the emotion conveyed did not always fit the content OR emphasis uneven.	Fair The student speaks clearly but is, at times, indistinct, too quiet, and/or pitch was rarely used OR the emotion it conveyed often did not fit the content.
